Shihan Flemming Jinzen attended in the World Open Karate Tournament in Tokyo 1979 and 1984 with a fighting weight of only 71,5 kg. He fought himself through the fifth round in 1979 despite  injured in the third round under the Tameshiwari (wood breaking with empi) where he jumped his right triceps muscle and fought two fights with a serious injury which was operated on when he return to Hospital in Denmark, he won aginst a professionel Thai boxer with only one arm "this fight you can see at the  KWU ( Kyokushin World Union Video )from" Mas Oyama´s Godhand" the World Open Karate  Tournament 1979, at the next fight he fought the Brittish heavyweight champion Bernard Cretion, (the kancho of karate Jutsu), who was lucky to sit bye the first two tournament rounds, so Jinzen foght total of 4 fights, Bernard Creton foght total of 3 fights, there foght first 3 min, then 3x2 min extendents , after 9 minuts of fighting with one armJinzen lost to Bernard Creton. But the battle had be so hard to Bernard Creton that, was stepping back from his next fight against Willie William USA.

In 1984 he fought him self to the four round at the World Open Karate Tournament in Tokyo. His second fight, he win by knock out with mawashigeri to the head after 12 second of fight and he fought aginst the 2 meter high and 115kg heavy South Africa Champion Shihan Hennie Bosman and  after 9 min of fight he win by the weight,  there was 43kg weight different. Sosai was bowing for the Danish Kyokushin fighters spirit. After the World tournament under the Sayanara party Sosai Mas Oyama call for the small Jinzen to show him respect, he was telling him that he was a strong fighter with great skills despite of injury he have just won against a mush larger fighter, he was sure he would have become World Champion if Kyokuhshin have weight division, but Jinzen must understand that there will never be weight division in Kyokushin.  Kyokushin Budo Karate was the world strongest karate,  where a smaller person could win against a bigger person, as he just did in his fight against Hennie Bosman. It was with awe and humbel respect he stod in front of sosai. Because of its veneration of Sosai he had only told about his meeting with Sosai to few people. but know it is more than 29 years ago.
